Avinash Malhotra, [Bobby Deol], and his wife Sanjana Malhotra, [Lara Dutta], seem to share a glossy, modern life, but beneath the surface Avinash grows uneasy as he starts to suspect that Sanjana has been lying to him—even about trivial things. The doubt slowly erodes trust, and his mood shifts from concern to controlling anger, a change that unsettles their circle of friends who try in vain to calm the situation. At a party, the tension erupts in a painful public confrontation where Avinash’s temper embarrasses Sanjana and casts a pall over their social life.

The following day brings a brutal twist: Avinash learns that he has killed Sanjana in front of her uncle. A court case follows, and the harsh reality of prison life hits as he is given a life sentence. The prosecution is led by Prosecutor Sanjay Pathak, [Milind Gunaji], and Avinash, convinced of his innocence, turns to his lawyer and trusted friend Rohit, [Milind Soman], for help. Rohit agrees to assist in an escape in exchange for control over Avinash’s property, but the plan backfires when Rohit betrays him and flees with the money, leaving Avinash to fend for himself.

Sonia, a steadfast friend played by Gul Panag, finds Avinash and nurses him back to health, offering a lifeline and a path to retribution. With renewed resolve, Avinash tracks Rohit to Malaysia, intent on settling the score. There, he is shocked to discover Sanjana alive and living with Rohit, and he uncovers that Sanjana had an affair with Rohit and helped plot to remove Avinash from their lives. The revelation deepens the rift between Sanjana and Avinash, while Rohit remains wary that Sanjana might reveal their secret.

An inspector, Vishnu Patnaik, [Ashish Vidhyarthi], pieces the puzzle together as the chase moves toward a dangerous confrontation. The drama intensifies when Rohit and Sanjana attend a party, and Sanjana nearly lets the truth slip; a tense confrontation follows in the parking lot, where Avinash patiently awaits his moment. In a brutal turn, Avinash knocks Sanjana unconscious and kills Rohit, a deed that seals the next phase of the conflict.

Back home, Sanjana awakens to find herself arrested for Rohit’s murder and is quickly found guilty, receiving a life sentence. The inspector, who has by now pieced together the chain of deceit, visits her in jail with a grim, silent validation of the grim truth. Avinash, having achieved his elusive revenge, meets Sonia and signals that he plans to start a new life, leaving Sanjana to repent for her sins behind bars. The courtroom saga is ultimately guided by the Judge, [Firdaus Mewawala], whose presence underscores the weight of the verdicts that ripple through everyone involved.
