In the quiet, dusty town of Dharampur, a Returned American NRI named Shankar Narayan is stunned to discover his father, a former businessman who has served time in jail, living under the alias Mahaprabhu Janak Sagar Jagat Narayan and posing as a divine seer with miraculous powers. To counter this bold deception, Shankar seeks help from a celebrated magician: Amitabh Bachchan as Goga, and brings him to Dharampur to challenge the self-styled oracle.

Goga arrives with dazzling showmanship, testing the limits of belief and illusion as he faces off against Mahaprabhu. Through a series of clever tricks, he unseats the impostor, drives him out of the temple, and seizes control for himself. With the power now in his hands, Goga’s grip on the town tightens, and Shankar, though uneasy, asks him to leave—only to be met with Gogeshwar’s stubborn refusal to relinquish his new authority.
