The town of Jayshankarapuram, home to Tamil-speaking cowboys, is ruled by a one-eyed tyrant named Kizhakku Kattai, [Nassar], who holds sway over nearby villages and is forever flanked by two loyal aides: a cowgirl named Pakki, [Raai Laxmi], and an outlaw named Ulakkai, [Saikumar]. In a bid to free their town from his iron grip, Bilagiri James, [Mouli], Dagelandi, [Ilavarasu], Jada, [Ramesh Khanna], and Viruma, [Vaiyapuri], journey to the neighboring town of Sholaypuram to seek out a savior.
There they encounter Singaram, a man of noble heart who has been condemned to death for alleged duty negligence. The gang rescues Singaram from execution and explains their plight. Singaram learns why he was chosen: he bears a striking resemblance to Singam, the former marshal of Jayashankarapuram who stood up to Kattai’s tyranny, and who vanished years ago, leaving the town defenseless. Thus Singaram is brought to the village and passes off as Singam, quickly absorbing the hero’s skills and tricks. He earns the respect of the village elders, including Paandu Paramu, [Delhi Ganesh], and Keluthi Amma, [Manorama].
A young woman named Bali, [Padmapriya Janakiraman], falls for Singaram, and he gradually surpasses the original hero’s prowess, initially aided by a streak of luck. Into this mix arrive a Red Indian village whose pure vegetarian tribals are led by Athirikesa, [M.S. Bhaskar], his father Rangula Peri, [Senthil], and his daughter Thumbi, [Sandhya]. The locals discover a map hidden in their “MGR Timesquare,” but it is only half the clue; the other half remains missing to unlock the treasure that lies somewhere far away. Meanwhile, Kattai negotiates a grim deal, offering to free prisoners in exchange for the treasure.
Singaram and his allies embark on an Indiana Jones–esque adventure to uncover the missing half and the treasure; they locate it in a cave and make a daring escape, only to learn that Dagelandi, [Ilavarasu], is Kattai’s right-hand man and has been spying on them all along. Kattai then reveals that he killed Singam years ago and challenges Singaram to a duel in front of the people. The duel begins with Kattai gaining the upper hand, but Singaram’s resolve, driven by the memory of Singam, drives him to fight back.
The turning moment arrives when Pakki, [Raai Laxmi], shoots Kattai, driven by her love for Singaram, and she leaves with her cronies. With the tyrant dead, peace returns to Jayshankarapuram and the Red Indians. Singaram is hailed as a hero and is offered a grand reward: a diamond and a platter of gold coins from the treasure. He declines the gold coins for the diamond, urging the people to use the treasure to build a school for the children, emphasizing that education is essential for all. He receives a heartfelt farewell from the townspeople and, accompanied by Bali, rides off into the sunset.
