The town of Jayshankarapuram, home to Tamil-speaking cowboys, is ruled by a one-eyed tyrant named Kizhakku Kattai, [Nassar], who holds sway over nearby villages and is forever flanked by two loyal aides: a cowgirl named Pakki, [Raai Laxmi], and an outlaw named Ulakkai, [Saikumar]. In a bid to free their town from his iron grip, Bilagiri James, [Mouli], Dagelandi, [Ilavarasu], Jada, [Ramesh Khanna], and Viruma, [Vaiyapuri], journey to the neighboring town of Sholaypuram to seek out a savior.

There they encounter Singaram, a man of noble heart who has been condemned to death for alleged duty negligence. The gang rescues Singaram from execution and explains their plight. Singaram learns why he was chosen: he bears a striking resemblance to Singam, the former marshal of Jayashankarapuram who stood up to Kattai’s tyranny, and who vanished years ago, leaving the town defenseless. Thus Singaram is brought to the village and passes off as Singam, quickly absorbing the hero’s skills and tricks. Singaram and his allies embark on an Indiana Jones–esque adventure to uncover the missing half and the treasure; they locate it in a cave and make a daring escape, only to learn that Dagelandi, [Ilavarasu], is Kattai’s right-hand man and has been spying on them all along. Kattai then reveals that he killed Singam years ago and challenges Singaram to a duel in front of the people.
