Immacolata and Concetta: The Other Jealousy 1979

Set in the gritty, working‑class lanes of southern Italy, the film follows Immacolata Ida Di Benedetto, a woman who is bisexual and tangled in a life that mixes love, duty, and danger. She is married to Pasquale, a crude and overbearing husband, and runs a butcher shop that struggles to turn a profit while cherishing a small daughter she loves deeply. One fateful day, Immacolata is discovered with Ciro and another woman in a threesome by Ciro’s wife, a discovery that sets off a chain of consequences. When they are released, Immacolata invites Concetta into her home, a gesture that infuriates Pasquale and shocks the neighbors, who shun the couple for their taboo bond and the scandal that lingers in their wake.
