I Don’t Know Whether to Slit My Wrists or Leave Them Long 2013

The film begins dramatically with the echo of two gunshots ringing out from an apartment building in Mexico City. In one unit, Nora, portrayed by Ludwika Paleta, confronts her husband Aarón, played by Raúl Méndez, while holding him at gunpoint after discovering his infidelity. Simultaneously, we see Félix, portrayed by Luis Ernesto Franco, grappling with the loss of his football career and the collapse of his relationship, seemingly attempting suicide in another apartment. As the tension escalates, the story rewinds to eight months prior, revealing the events leading to that fateful night.

Nora and Aarón are depicted as a young couple whose marriage suffers from a deep-seated mistrust fueled by Aarón’s repeated affairs. Their neighbors, Julia and Lucas, played by Zuria Vega and Luis Gerardo Méndez respectively, present themselves as a married couple. However, they are actually close friends, using their fabricated union as a guise to help Lucas conceal his homosexuality from his family.
