I Am Elizabeth Smart (2017): Cast, Plot & Where to Watch

Elizabeth Smart [Alana Boden] recounts the harrowing days of her kidnapping from her own perspective, offering a clear and unflinching look at what she endured and how she managed to hold onto hope.

On the night of June 5, 2002, 14-year-old Elizabeth Smart is abducted from her family’s home by a religious fanatic, Brian David Mitchell [Skeet Ulrich]. The intrusion jolts her sister Mary Katherine [Cassidy Nugent], who wakes to the commotion, unaware that her life is about to be forever altered. Mitchell, who later questions Elizabeth about her faith and loyalty, drags her away to a secluded encampment in the hills, where he and his wife Wanda Barzee [Deirdre Lovejoy] impose a brutal routine of control and ritual.
