Gwen Ratch, Nell Hudson, is part of a small family that slips into the ballroom of the Queen Mary during its 1938 voyage to New York, hoping their young daughter can land an audition with Fred Astaire, Wesley Alfvin. The moment is charged with ambition and old‑world glamour, even as the ship’s engine room hums with the promise and danger of a record‑breaking journey.

In present day, Anne Caulder, Alice Eve, and her husband Patrick Caulder, Joel Fry, along with their son Lukas Caulder, Lenny Rush, are touring the refurbished ship now marketed as a quirky attraction called “The Queen Mary No Escape.” They’re brainstorming a fresh pitch for the attraction, while Lukas quietly nurtures a story idea of his own, hoping to turn it into a book. The mood shifts when Lukas spots a small girl and slips away to follow her; he disappears and returns soaked, his camera missing its charge.

The following day, Lieutenant Gibson, Tim Downie, informs Anne and Patrick that the ship is closed for the day, allowing visitors to explore above deck but not below deck M. The tension between past and present deepens as the boardwalk becomes a crossing between times, and the siblings of the Caulder family stay determined to uncover the ship’s secrets.

Their reunion leads them toward a doorway that, when torn down, reveals the pool in a space that feels almost out of time. There, they recover Lukas’s camera and discover the full roll of film, a tangible link between the ship’s past and present. The film’s images hint at a life within the Queen Mary that refuses to stay buried, connecting the destinies of Gwen, Patrick, Anne, Lukas, and the mysterious girl Lukas followed in the corridor of memory.
