Spoilers ahead
Miho Nishizumi is a gifted tank operator who transfers from her former school, Black Forest Academy, to the women’s academy at Oorai with a clear purpose: to help a fellow tank girl push toward another win in the annual competition. This bold move sits uneasily with her mother, who leads the school with a stern, unforgiving view of how a tank operator should meet an enemy on the field. The consequence is that Miho becomes ostracized, and she eventually leaves Black Forest to escape the same rigid expectations and to pursue a quieter life at Oorai.
