It is believed that Anjali’s twin sister Geetha has committed suicide, a rumor that soon shadows the life of Anjali herself. [Anjali] is betrothed to Anoop, a member of a prominent family who works in Mumbai, a union that her family views as bringing prestige and security. When her mother suffers a fall from a terrace and is left bedridden and paralyzed, Anjali and Anoop travel to her ancestral home in Arackal, Kerala, seeking care and stability amid a mounting sense of dread. It doesn’t take long for Geetha’s presence to feel undeniable, and her spirit begins to haunt Anjali, turning quiet moments into unsettling disturbances and turning the house into a place where fear lingers. As days pass, a sequence of terrifying incidents intensifies, feeding the belief that the home is cursed and that something unseen is orchestrating misfortune around Anjali.

To find help, Anoop reaches out to Nakulan, who in turn seeks the expertise of Dr. Sunny Joseph. The doctor, whose arrival is described with the almost mythic detail that he has traveled from Machu Picchu, arrives to assess Anjali and attempt to arrest the crisis engulfing her. The family, convinced that a malevolent force inhabits the house, ultimately relocates to a new residence, hoping a fresh setting might sever the link between Anjali and the chain of disturbing events. Yet the new house offers little respite. A new thread enters the mystery when Vasu, the prospective owner of the old property, claims to have seen Geetha in a car and leaves a file with a number that might unlock the past. The next morning Geetha’s spirit supposedly summons him to a church; he goes, calls Sunny for help, and is killed before any aid can arrive. Sunny notices a car leaving the church and follows, but the killer has already vanished, leaving behind questions rather than answers.

Confronted with these phenomena, Anjali confides to Sunny that Geetha killed herself after learning of Anjali’s love for Anoop, a revelation that reframes the haunting as a difficult, personal history rather than a pure supernatural threat. Seeking guidance, Sunny turns to Kathalikaattu Thirumeni, who uncovers evidence that the haunting is tied to possession—Anjali is, at least at times, under Geetha’s influence. The tension escalates as tragedy strikes the household when Thampichayan, the long-time caretaker, dies in a gruesome event tied to the house’s dark history. Sunny, though, tries to manage the crisis with a clinical eye, insisting that the haunting is a psychological phenomenon rather than a literal one, and he contemplates postponing the marriage to gather more evidence. This stance, however, meets resistance from Anoop, who suspects that Sunny is plotting to separate him from Anjali and who drives Sunny out of the house in anger.

A series of ominous signs continue to mount. The fire claims Thampichayan in a cottage, and the fear that grips the family deepens as the wedding draws near. In a moment of direct confrontation, Sunny abducts Anoop and takes him to a small graveyard, confronting him with what he believes is the truth: Anjali is actually Geetha, driven by darker motives. A flashback then unspools the backstory: Anjali and Anoop had fallen in love, but Geetha misread the situation, believing that Anoop loved her and not Anjali, and she harbored a desire for revenge when her hopes were not realized. Sunny lays out the full truth, showing Anoop a grave that marks Anjali and explaining how Geetha’s actions grew from a place of jealousy and fear.

Guilt gnaws at Geetha, and as Sunny pieces together the evidence, it becomes clear that Vasu was killed by Thambi—the only other person who knew the full truth, apart from Geetha and her mother. The narrative also reveals that Geetha herself was responsible for the terrace accident that killed her mother, an act born from her anger and desire to rewrite the past. Thambi’s own death is presented as another consequence of Geetha’s escalating desperation. As Sunny continues to gather proof, the impending marriage is held in suspense, with Anoop’s anxiety peaking as he contends with a truth that could shatter his world.

The climactic moments unfold on the engagement night. Anoop storms into the house to confront Geetha, accusing her of manipulating Anjali’s name and memory. Geetha responds with violence, attempting to harm him, and then finally confesses that she was the one who killed Anjali during a beach argument — a claim she had concealed with a different version when queried about the beach incident earlier. The struggle turns physical, and Anoop is nearly paralyzed, but Sunny intervene just in time to rescue him. A crucial, almost miraculous turn comes when an image of Anjali’s spirit appears in Geetha’s mind, appearing on a mirror and stopping Geetha from pulling the trigger. The confrontation ends with Geetha meeting a burning fate in the house, while Anjali’s spirit, or the memory of it, watches over Geetha as she dies.

In the aftermath, Geetha’s grave is laid beside Anjali’s, symbolizing a reconciliation between past and present, and perhaps the possibility of peace for Anoop, his family, and Thankappan, who express their gratitude to Sunny for lending them the truth, the courage, and the support they needed to face the tragedy. The story closes on a note of unresolved heartbreak tempered by a sense of closure: the haunting is over, the truth is laid bare, and a family must learn to carry the weight of what happened while honoring the memory of those who were lost.
