For Love or Country: The Arturo Sandoval Story (2000): Cast

In the early 1970s, Cuban trumpeter Arturo Sandoval (Andy Garcia) is torn between his own musical ambitions and the aspirations of his wife, Marianela (Mía Maestro), a passionate advocate of Castro’s revolutionary ideals. The film also features Charles S. Dutton as Dizzy Gillespie and José Zúñiga as Paquito D’Rivera, delivering a gripping jazz biopic that is both an intimate portrait of a virtuoso musician and a pointed critique of the era’s political pressures.
