Benjamin “Finn” Finnegan, portrayed by Matthew McConaughey, is an adventurous treasure hunter on an exhilarating quest to locate the fabled treasure of the Spanish galleon, the Aurelia, which was lost at sea during the fateful 1715 Treasure Fleet disaster. However, as Finn embarks on this thrilling journey, his marriage to his wife, Tess, played by Kate Hudson, unravels, ultimately leading to their divorce. Determined to make ends meet, Tess finds herself working as a steward on the lavish yacht owned by the wealthy and enigmatic Nigel Honeycutt (Donald Sutherland).

While chasing down a crucial clue towards the treasure’s whereabouts, Finn cleverly manages to board Honeycutt’s luxurious yacht, The Precious Gem, persuading both him and his daughter, Gemma (Alexis Dziena), along with Tess, to join in this exhilarating treasure hunt. Complications arise with the involvement of a local criminal, BiggBunny (Kevin Hart), who, along with Finn’s dubious mentor, Moe Fitch (Ray Winstone), is also on a relentless pursuit to claim the treasure for himself.

The hunt takes a competitive turn as The Precious Gem and Moe’s vessel race against each other through the gorgeous waters of The Bahamas. In a tense turn of events, Finn stumbles upon an ancient sword that serves as a significant clue leading further towards the treasure’s hidden location. As Finn and Tess unravel intricate clues that take them to an ancient church, they discover a diary revealing vital instructions to the treasure’s location.

However, danger lurks nearby as BiggBunny, tracking Finn and Tess, captures Tess and mistakenly believes he has killed Finn. In a desperate move, BiggBunny forces Tess to assist him in searching for the treasure within a blowhole—the very location specified in the diary. Fortunately, Tess uncovers the treasure hidden in a cave beneath the blowhole.

Simultaneously, Finn and the Honeycutts join forces with Moe to thwart BiggBunny and reclaim the treasure. They arrive just in time to witness one of BiggBunny’s henchmen meeting a tragic fate within the blowhole, which leads to both Finn and Tess being trapped. Finn heroically saves Tess, only for her to be captured by BiggBunny once more. During the intense chaos, game-changing moments unfold; Gemma assists Finn in reaching BiggBunny’s plane using her jet ski. Finn grabs hold of the plane’s pontoon as it ascends. Just when it seems like all hope is lost, Tess awakens, delivering the perfect blow by kicking BiggBunny out of the plane and into the ocean.

As the dust settles, the final member of BiggBunny’s crew is apprehended by Moe following a confrontation in which he’s injured. In a heartwarming and thrilling conclusion, Finn and Tess reunite, successfully recovering the treasure. The adventure doesn’t end there; Tess is revealed to be pregnant, hinting at a new chapter ahead for the couple. Together with Nigel, Gemma, Moe, and others who helped in this thrilling treasure hunt, they open a museum to showcase their remarkable discoveries for everyone to admire.
