Amelia (Frenscheska Farr), a young woman from Ilocos, leaves her family to work overseas and support them financially. She secures a position as a nanny for a sheikh’s pregnant wife, and later becomes the caretaker of the sheikh’s first‑born son, Ahmed. As the years pass, Amelia watches Ahmed grow from an infant into a child while confronting the hardships, isolation and cultural challenges of being a foreign domestic worker, gaining a deeper understanding of life’s trials and the sacrifices required by those who leave home for the sake of loved ones.

Amelia, Frencheska Farr, a girl from a poor Ilocano family, leaves her hometown to seek fortune abroad and lift her family from poverty. She becomes a maid for a royal family in the Middle East, a household pressed for time as the Sheikh’s wife prepares to give birth to a son named Ahmed. Amelia grows fond of the baby, teaching him to speak Tagalog and to play tumbang preso, the Filipino game that becomes a small bridge between two worlds.
