On Incheon International Airport, a tense atmosphere unfolds as Jin-seok, a suspicious man, begins questioning a staff member about the most popular flights. His interrogation raises suspicion, and when he is denied the answers he seeks, he becomes hostile, insulting the staff before heading into the bathroom. There, in a disturbing act, he surgically inserts a cylindrical object into his armpit, signaling his intent to carry out something sinister. Meanwhile, Jae-hyuk, played by singer and actor Kang-ho Song, along with his young daughter Soo-min, are also present at the airport. Jin-seok later approaches them with inappropriate and threatening questions, prompting Jae-hyuk to step in to protect his daughter, and they quickly walk away.

Unbeknownst to the passengers, Jin-seok has managed to smuggle a deadly virus onboard the aircraft, hiding it inside an asthma inhaler. This act sets off a chain of catastrophic events. At the same time, Detective In-ho, portrayed by Michael Davis, is investigating a viral terror threat video that leads him to Jin-seok. His search of Jin-seok’s home uncovers disturbing evidence, including animal testing materials and a decomposing corpse, revealing a dark past of biological experimentation connected to the virus.

As the plane takes off, Jin-seok releases the virus into the airplane’s bathroom, contaminating it. Later, a passenger enters the infected restroom and suddenly collapses, suffering from severe hemorrhaging, illustrating the virus’s deadly nature. Mid-flight, Jae-hyuk watches a terror threat video that points directly to Jin-seok as the virus’s source. Tensions escalate when Soo-min reveals that Jin-seok threatened to kill everyone on the plane, heightening the fear and suspicion among the passengers.

Pandemonium erupts as more passengers exhibit symptoms, and Jin-seok is confronted and restrained after releasing more of the virus. The chaos reaches the cockpit, where Hyun-soo, the co-pilot, and Hee-jin, a flight attendant, notify the captain of the outbreak. Tragically, the captain collapses from infection, causing the plane to lose control and dive dangerously. With the situation worsening, Jae-hyuk, a former pilot haunted by a traumatic emergency landing, takes charge. Using his skills, he collaborates with Hyun-soo to stabilize the aircraft and prevent disaster.

Meanwhile, Detective In-ho pursues Jin-seok’s accomplice on the ground, uncovering the virus’s origin—a mutated hemorrhagic virus imported from the Middle East, linked to Jin-seok’s dismissal from a pharmaceutical company. As the virus continues to spread throughout the plane, international authorities such as the U.S. and Japan deny the aircraft’s request to land, fearing a biological catastrophe. The situation in South Korea intensifies, with public panic, protests, and online calls urging the government to refuse landing clearance for the infected aircraft.

Inside the plane, the passengers are faced with an agonizing choice: accept their grim fate or try to fight the outbreak. Many volunteer to stay onboard, unwilling to risk spreading the infection to the ground. Jae-hyuk announces that despite the crisis, the plane will not attempt to land, showing the gravity of the situation and the passengers’ collective resolve to prevent additional harm.

In a critical breakthrough, an experimental antiviral drug administered to Detective In-ho shows hopeful results. The vaccine’s effectiveness is confirmed, allowing the emergency authorization for landing. However, due to fuel shortages and the ongoing threat, Jae-hyuk diverts the plane to a military airstrip, executing a narrow escape from potential disaster.

In the aftermath, government officials face repercussions, with the Minister of Land resigning in response to the crisis. Jin-seok’s sociopathic tendencies are thoroughly confirmed, and the surviving passengers, including those who fought for their lives, come together at a celebration of resilience and survival. This story underscores themes of heroism, the danger of biological warfare, and the profound impact of human courage in the face of catastrophic threats.
