El Camino Christmas 2017

The film begins with a dramatic scene at Vicente’s Liquor Mart in El Camino, Nevada, where gunfire breaks out. Sheriff Bob Fuller, played by Kurtwood Smith, quickly calls for a ceasefire alongside his deputy Billy Calhoun, portrayed by Dax Shepard. The chaos subsides, and a flashback transports us 39 hours earlier, showcasing the daily lives of several characters, including a mother and her son enjoying breakfast, a woman watching news about a Christmas without snow for 40 years, Vicente, the store owner, opening up for business, and a young man driving a vintage muscle car.

As the sheriff deals with one of his deputies, Carl Hooker, played by Vincent D’Onofrio, he catches him drinking on duty, leading to a heated exchange about Carl’s history of service. Meanwhile, we meet Eric Norris, portrayed by Luke Grimes, who arrives at a roadside motel, but his credit card gets declined. He pays cash, showing his frustration with his circumstances.

In another scene at a doctor’s office, Kate Daniels, played by Michelle Mylett, struggles with her son Seth’s autism diagnosis.
