On Christmas Eve, the wife steps out of her routine, venturing to an underground pawnshop in quest of a rare “Party Girl” doll for their daughter. Her success is ephemeral, as she soon encounters a mysterious figure presenting her husband’s driver’s license and revealing he has been kidnapped. This encounter sets off a frantic quest for ransom that leads her into the depths of the criminal underbelly they inhabit.

After she hastily gathers the first $15,000, she returns home, only to find her husband severely beaten, a grim consequence of a run-in with seemingly corrupt law enforcement. The kidnapper, emboldened and aware of their lives, demands an even steeper ransom, threatening to expose their sordid dealings. Within this precarious holiday season, the wife’s challenges are compounded by the absence of her usual support network, reminding her of the inherent dangers tied to their illegal undertakings.

On Christmas morning, relief washes over the family when the husband arrives home and their daughter beams with joy over her new Party Girl doll. Yet, this momentary peace is fleeting, as turbulent realities linger on the fringes of their lives.

In the aftermath, shocking news of police corruption reaches the couple—one of the arrested officers sparks a flood of memories for the wife, connecting the dots between their criminal activities and the systemic failings surrounding them. Despite the risks, their determination to maintain their lavish lifestyle propels them into further peril.

At a lavish party, the husband’s focus shifts to his associates, who boast of dealing with a colleague accused of betrayal. Unfazed, he takes the spotlight, serenading his wife with a soulful tune, seemingly unaffected by the chaos around them.
