An elderly man, Harry Agensky [Kirk Douglas], a one-time welterweight boxing champion, lives in Canada with his son Moses. His other son, Lance, resents him for never really supporting his dreams, and their relationship has cooled; Lance’s bond with his teenage son Michael is also strained. Lonely since the death of his wife and hindered by a stroke, Harry longs to retire to a ranch in Northern Canada, but he can’t afford it. When Lance invites him on a skiing trip with Michael, Harry agrees—yet at the last moment he nudges them toward Nevada instead. He insists he once threw a fight and was paid off in diamonds supposedly hidden in Reno, and if he can locate the treasure, he could buy the ranch.

Reluctantly, the trio heads west, chasing not just a cache of gems but a chance to bridge years of silence and regret. Their road trip through the arid landscapes becomes a test of character as each man confronts what he’s given up for pride, and what he might still salvage from fractured dreams. As the search for the hidden diamonds unfolds, the trip becomes less about riches and more about reconciliation.
