Beautiful, young, and dangerously alluring, Madeleine de Beaupré Marlene Dietrich targets a fortune in pearls at a refined Paris jewelry shop. She deftly engineers a flawless setup: she convinces the proprietor, Aristide Duvalle John Halliday, that she’s bound for a wealthy physician husband, Maurice Pauquet Alan Mowbray, and has him forward the dazzling pearls to Pauquet’s office so he can settle the bill.
