What Is Descendant of the Sun About?
The premise of Descendant of the Sun without spoilers.
Chu Yuan directs this blend of Superman‑style myth and classic kung‑fu. Derek Yee plays a celestial infant sent by a benevolent god, raised by a carpenter, whose kung‑fu powers fade during solar eclipses due to a ‘green kryptonite’, awakening an evil twin. Fast fights starring Jackie Chan’s ex‑stunt partners Yuan Pin and Yuen Hua use Toho‑style effects.
