A year after revisiting her childhood home, Risa Saraswati Prilly Latuconsina and her sister Riri Sandrinna Michelle settle in Bandung, living with their companions Peter Gama Haritz, William Alexander Bain, and Janshen Kevin Bzezovski. With Elly abroad with her husband, the sisters often make the long ride to Tina’s residence. Tina Sophia Latjuba shares her home with her husband Ahmad Bucek Depp and their lively son Angki Shawn Adrian Khulafa. The arrangement feels normal at first, but the house begins to whisper with something unsettled, a shadow that lingered from the past.
Riri, now stepping into ballet, trains with a growing sense of urgency. During one of Risa’s stage performances, a ghost seems to loom just behind her, a moment that unnerves the audience and unsettles the pair. In the meantime, Peter, William, and Janshen encounter two spectral friends, Hendrick Matthew White and Hans Justin Rossi, who drift through the night with a pale familiarity that hints at the town’s long memory of the dead.
Suspicion begins to sour the air around Ahmad. He grows introverted and starts scattering tuberose vases around the house, a strange habit that unsettles Tina and Risa alike. Riri also notices Ahmad walking with a woman, a sign that deepens the crackle of mistrust and hints at infidelity that gnaws at the family’s fragile peace. Tina’s spirit-touched world grows darker as she experiences a terrifying encounter with a ghost, leaving her traumatized and hospitalized.
Inside the sanatorium, a corpse purifier who can communicate with ghosts reveals a troubling layer to the hauntings. He explains that certain fox-like ghosts can decide whether their danur, or spiritual essence, can reach a human’s senses, and he speaks of maddah, a ritual that can deepen one’s latent powers. This unsettling knowledge invites Risa to push her abilities further, using her sixth sense as Angki urges her to uncover the truth behind the disturbances.
As the hauntings escalate, Risa opens herself to a visiting ghost. The spirit warns Angki that she intends to kill Ahmad, a chilling revelation that compels Risa to act. She retrieves a diary from Ahmad, a document in which he proclaims devotion to a woman named Elizabeth and vows to meet her. The diary’s pages reveal that Elizabeth is tied to Ahmad’s past, and that she may be the same person as his former partner. Risa begins to suspect that Elizabeth is a colonial-era Dutch girl who intends to kill Ahmad as a cruel substitute for a new wife. The diary becomes a smoking gun—Risa and Riri search the residence and shred any photos of Dutch women that might anchor Elizabeth to the living world.
When Ahmad is overwhelmed by possession, Risa calls on her ghostly allies to help sever the hold of Elizabeth. The specters guide her as she fights to save Ahmad from Elizabeth’s malevolent influence, and in a moment of desperation, Ahmad tears up the diary that had so haunted him, tearing away a part of his own dangerous past.
Risa’s spectral circle then introduces her to Ivanna [Elena V. Holovcsak], who explains a crucial link: Ivanna’s brother, Dimas [Annov Hari Prabowo], was Elizabeth’s boyfriend. The tragedy surrounding Dimas traces back to the father of Elizabeth, who killed Dimas to prevent the relationship, and Ivanna’s family has since severed ties with Elizabeth. The revelation stitches together a web of old wounds and present danger, suggesting that Elizabeth’s reach crosses generations and borders, binding past and present in a chilling pact.
Sometime later, the group—Risa, her sister, Tina, Ahmad, and Angki—make their way to the theater to watch Riri’s ballet. The performance unfolds against a backdrop of memory and rumor, and in the middle of the routine, Risa glimpses Canting, the theater’s resident ghost [Dea Panendra], whose presence suggests that the night’s haunting has a purpose beyond a frightful spectacle.
Together, the night and the day blur as the living and the dead draw closer. The family’s fear gives way to determination as Risa uses what she’s learned from the sanatorium and Maddah to face a history that refuses to stay buried. The theatre, the diary, and the Dutch ghostly legacy collide in a confrontation that tests loyalty, courage, and belief. In the end, the living must reckon with the past to protect one another, even as Canting lingers at the edge of the stage, a quiet reminder that some echoes never truly fade.
