Crew delivers an entertaining comedy anchored by its charismatic lead trio, yet its narrative structure undermines the overall impact. The film benefits from well‑timed jokes, strong chemistry among Tabu, Kareena and Kriti, and a lively soundtrack that enhances the light‑hearted tone. Conversely, the heist premise feels predictable, the second half rushes toward resolution, and the plot lacks the tension expected of the genre. As a result, the movie offers enjoyable moments but leaves limited lasting impression.
The Movie Echo Score Breakdown for Crew
Art & Craft
From an artistic standpoint, Crew showcases competent direction and crisp editing that maintain a brisk pace, while the cinematography captures the airline setting with an appealing palette. Production design contributes functional sets, and the soundtrack adds buoyant energy. However, some criticism targets the costuming, which some viewers found overly stylized, slightly detracting from visual authenticity.
Character & Emotion
When evaluating character work, the three protagonists deliver nuanced performances that blend humor with genuine emotional beats, and their chemistry forms the film’s central strength. Supporting actors, particularly Diljit Dosanjh, provide additional comic relief without eclipsing the leads. While occasional dialogue leans toward overt flirtation, overall the cast sustains audience engagement through convincing portrayals.
Story & Flow
The story centers on a light‑hearted heist undertaken by three flight attendants, but its execution suffers from predictability and uneven pacing. The first half establishes engaging premises and witty dialogue, yet the second half rushes resolution, limiting tension and diminishing narrative depth. Consequently, the plot provides modest entertainment while falling short of delivering a compelling or surprising arc.
Sensory Experience
Sensory elements contribute positively, with a vibrant soundtrack that underscores comedic beats and sound design that supports the aviation setting. Visual style features bright color schemes and effective shot composition, enhancing the film’s lively atmosphere. Though the audio‑visual presentation is generally polished, occasional over‑bright lighting in costume sequences slightly distracts from immersion.
Rewatch Factor
Crew offers a light‑hearted viewing experience that many find suitable for casual re‑engagement, thanks to its humorous set‑pieces and likable leads. The comedy retains enough freshness for repeat laughs, though the predictable plot and rushed finale limit deep memorability. Overall, the film provides moderate replay value for audiences seeking uncomplicated, feel‑good entertainment.

Geeta Sethi (Tabu), Jasmine Kohli (Kareena Kapoor Khan), and Divya Rana (Kriti Sanon) are flight attendants with Kohinoor Airlines in Mumbai, a company teetering on the edge of bankruptcy. The staff haven’t been paid for months, yet they cling to the hope that conditions will improve and they might weather the storm together. Geeta is a former beauty queen, now married to Arun (Kapil Sharma); the couple once enjoyed wealth, but a family spat left Geeta to support herself and others through aviation work. Arun now runs a struggling food business from home and dreams of owning a restaurant in Goa. Geeta also supports her unemployed troublemaking brother, Punnu, and his wife Sapna, as they navigate their own rough patch.
Jasmine was raised by her maternal grandfather, Nanu (Kulbhushan Kharbanda), and has hustled for money since school days. She’s wary of relationships, drawn to expensive things, and projects a flashy lifestyle on social media while trying to launch her own cosmetics business. Divya is trained to be a pilot but took up the flight-attendant role due to a lack of openings, a truth she keeps hidden from her family while she tries to repay her school loan.
Everything changes with the death of senior flight attendant Rajvanshi (Ramakant Dayma) on duty, which pushes Geeta, Jasmine, and Divya toward a clandestine plan to smuggle gold out of India to the Middle Eastern country of Al Burj. Manoj Mittal (Rajesh Sharma), Kohinoor Airlines’ HR head, is revealed as the kingpin behind the operation. Following Jasmine’s push after Geeta discovers the airline Provident Fund has vanished, the three women step into Rajvanshi’s role and disguise the loot as chocolates, a ruse that begins to change their fortunes: Geeta uses the money to support Arun’s business and help Punnu and Sapna, Jasmine buys back Nanu’s gold ring and indulges in luxury, and Divya pays off her school loan while buying her parents a new car. Yet the others at the airline continue to struggle.
Word of the scheme leaks to customs officials, and the trio faces a humiliating detention as they reevaluate their path. The enraged SI Mala hints that the tip came from an air hostess within Kohinoor, and she struggles to accept that she couldn’t recover any gold. The plane carrying the hidden stash is exposed when turbulence damages the fuselage and the gold spills out. Vijay Walia (Saswata Chatterjee), the airline’s chairman, and Mittal flee with the loot, forcing Geeta, Jasmine, and Divya to reassess their choices.
Initially, the trio suspects Komal (Pooja Bhamrah) of betraying them, but a heartfelt outburst from Komal makes it clear that none of their colleagues tipped them off. Sudha Mittal (Charu Shankar), Mittal’s wife and a former air hostess, reveals that Mittal cheated on her and to some extent tipped off the authorities to trap him, while also pointing to Vijay Walia as the true mastermind who transformed airline funds into gold and stashed it at Al Burj. From Sudha, the friends obtain Mittal’s Al Burj address, tail him, and eventually locate Walia at a luxury hotel where his daughter is getting married.
Geeta secures a job in the hotel as a housekeeper with Sapna’s help and gathers crucial information about the gold’s whereabouts. With the late-night help of Divya’s hacker brother Chintu (Mohit Gupta), they discover that Walia intends to move the gold aboard a private jet bound for the Cayman Islands. The three orchestrate a daring plan: Geeta and Jasmine slip into roles as air hostesses on the jet while Divya takes the pilot’s seat. They spike the passengers’ drinks and land the plane in Divya’s hometown Nanheri, where police and customs officers are waiting. In a tense confrontation, they manage to retain some of the gold and distribute it among friends, colleagues, and loved ones, while Mittal returns to Sudha with a share of gold he had hidden away.
