In which year does humanity establish its first foothold on Mars?

Plot Summary

Prologue:

In the distant future of 2031, humanity’s first foothold on Mars was established. By 2042, the Alliance had formed, empowered by quantum propulsion technology that enabled interstellar travel. Yet, tragedy struck when the Mars colony failed in 2281, and the Alliance controlled the three remaining colonies: Earth, Zafdie, and Ellora. Tensions mounted as Zafdie attempted to secede from the alliance in 2519, only to be brutally quashed by James Ford, known as The Blood General, who unleashed a devastating Q-Bomb that claimed the lives of 70 million innocent people. The horrific aftermath saw Dr. Lea Goss (romantic partner) abandon Ford, and he was subsequently dishonorably discharged from the military.

As the universe unfolded its dark secrets, an invasive alien species known as the Sigea emerged, notorious for their ability to parasitically infect and control their hosts by forcing them to ingest a mysterious black fluid that transformed them into mindless agents of the Sigea hive mind. This sinister force had conquered countless worlds, leaving a trail of devastation in its wake.

Main Story:

In 2524, the Vander Mining Corp was stationed on planet 4217LYA within the Heracles System when Captain Juda Saule (Eva De Dominici) reported an otherworldly encounter to the Alliance. On Earth, General Eron Ryle (Frank Grillo) received word of the alien contact and summoned Dr. Goss and Ford to the scene. Meanwhile, at a local watering hole, Dash (Corey Large) met with Ford (Bruce Willis) for a job opportunity when civilians unexpectedly clashed with The Bloody General. Commander Marcus Bleck (Costas Mandylor), sensing an opportunity, appeared on the scene, requesting Ford’s presence. Despite initial reluctance, Ford relented when informed that reinstatement to his military status was within reach.

At McMillian Airfield, Dash accompanied Ford as they convened with Dr. Goss (Perrey Reeves) and Ryle to discuss the alarming events in the Heracles System. The survivors of the Vander mining operation were dispatched to the airfield for debriefing, but concerns about their mental state arose when Dr. Goss revealed that the survivors had been taken over by the Sigea, leading them to turn on security personnel. A brutal struggle ensued, resulting in the loss of 53 lives. This heinous attack was perceived as a declaration of war against humanity, prompting the Alliance to launch Operation: Cosmic Sin.

Ford, Ryle, Goss, Braxton, Bleck (Brandon Thomas Lee), Dash, and Ardene (Adelaide Kane) embarked on a perilous journey through the Quantum Jump Gate to the planet Ellora, hell-bent on stopping the Sigea’s malevolent forces.

As the team descended onto the ravaged terrain of Ellora, a series of calamities beset them. Ryle’s suit suffered a catastrophic failure, leading his comrades to assume his fate was sealed, leaving him presumed dead and separated from their group. Meanwhile, Ford and Goss found themselves lost and alone amidst the chaos, struggling to rejoin their fellow soldiers. Bleck, despite his valiant efforts, succumbed to his wounds shortly after reaching the surface, his life slipping away as the team battled to repel their relentless attackers. Amidst the mayhem, a small band of Elloran survivors chanced upon the beleaguered group and, after verifying their humanity, chose to aid them in their desperate quest for survival.

As the surviving members of the team limped into the Alliance outpost, they were met with a grim reality: the Sigea’s insidious infection and control mechanisms left no room for mercy. Ford arrived just in time to find Bleck on the brink of death; with a heavy heart, he made the difficult decision to euthanize his comrade, ensuring a dignified end to Bleck’s suffering.

A somber mood settled over the surviving soldiers as they gathered to discuss their dire circumstances and concoct a plan. Ardene proposed an audacious solution: by rebooting the orbital cannon and launching the Q-bomb into space, they could collapse the gateway, sealing off the Sigea’s evil influence forever. As this strategy took shape, Ryle, stranded in space, reached out to Ardene via coms, offering his assistance in detonating the gateway, willing to sacrifice himself to ensure the destruction of the Sigea’s portal.

As the Sigea converge on the orbital cannon, their relentless pursuit of the survivors at the outpost reaches its boiling point. The once-human Goss (character), now an unwitting pawn in the alien’s sinister game, serves as a twisted ambassador, offering a fleeting chance for surrender before the last remnants of humanity make their final stand against the unyielding onslaught. With the soldiers and survivors united in their determination to hold the outpost until Ardene can unleash the cannon’s devastating power, the stage is set for a desperate bid to stave off the inevitable.

Meanwhile, Ford takes a daring leap of faith, latching onto a Sigea ship as it hurtles towards the gateway. As Goss drifts into the unknown, her haunting words - “there will never be peace” - serve as a stark reminder of the unforgiving nature of their intergalactic struggle. Repelled back to Ellora, Ford witnesses the unfolding chaos from afar.

Back at the cannon, Braxton discovers Ryle preparing to make the ultimate sacrifice in a last-ditch effort to seal the gateway and prevent further destruction. Hand in hand with Ardene, Braxton bears witness as they fire the cannon, launching the bomb that will determine the fate of humanity. The ensuing chaos sees Ryle’s selfless act destroy the gateway, allowing the Q-bomb to cross into Sigea space and create a catastrophic black hole.

As the dust settles, the gate closes behind the swirling vortex, effectively sealing off the Sigea attack fleet from further aggression. On Earth, Ford returns to the bar, his spirits dampened by the weight of their hard-won victory. Among the survivors of Ellora are Dash, Ardene, Braxton, and Sol Cantos, whose collective resilience in the face of adversity earns them a hero’s welcome within the Alliance.

Ford raises a glass in quiet tribute before taking his leave, the bitter taste of war still lingering on his palate.
