The premise of Coral Reef Legend: Elfie of the Blue Sea without spoilers.
In a future where rising seas have submerged continents, only a few islands remain, including the city‑island where Elfie lives with her grandfather. After an underwater accident she discovers she can breathe underwater, and learns from her grandfather that she is descended from the mythical sea‑people. Exploiting local fears, politicians incite a war between the city dwellers and the hidden aquatic race to divert attention from resource shortages, leaving Elfie torn between both worlds.
