On Independence Day, fifty robberies unfolded as two masked thieves raided homes and vanished with items totaling ₹70 million, leaving the whole city stunned. The police were left with no clues or evidence, and the case quickly fell into a void of mystery. In response, the authorities assign ACP Gayathiri, Shraddha Srinath, to spearhead the investigation. Gayathiri soon discovers that the 50th house targeted belonged to her ex-boyfriend, Major Chandru Vishal Krishna. The shock deepens when Chandru’s grandmother, K R Vijaya, is injured while trying to protect the Ashoka Chakra medal that the government had awarded to Chandru’s late father—the medal itself is tragically stolen in the heist.

Chandru steps into the case, accompanying Gayathri to help recover the medal and bring the thief to justice. As they sift through victim statements, it becomes clear the robbers knew the exact layout of each home and could relocate quickly. The investigation points toward a company called Dial For Help, and a recurring number tied to a man named Marimuthu becomes a crucial clue. They rush to Marimuthu’s residence, only to find his wife waiting there—the widow reveals that her husband died two years earlier, and offers no further leads. With few options, the pair pauses to regroup and press on.

Meanwhile, a mysterious caller reaches the Commissioner, claiming responsibility for all the thefts and daring the police to catch him or her. Accepting the taunt as a spark to ignite the search, Chandru presses on, using every clue to coax out the mysterious hacker. A breakthrough arrives when they realize the clue about the “queen” in chess and a thumbprint left on a data-destroying scanner pin down the suspect to a single person: Leela, a chess coach. The moment is confirmed when Gayathri and Chandru realize that the thief is a woman—Leela Regina Cassandra.

The story then unfolds in a lengthy flashback, revealing Leela’s harrowing childhood. A devoted daughter, Leela grows up under the shadow of an abusive, alcoholic father who torments her mother. One night, Leela awakens to learn that her mother has died in her sleep. Her father soon remarries and brings two young sons into the home. In a brutal twist, Leela later learns that her father and his wife suffocated her mother while she slept. Enraged, Leela kills her father and his wife, then uses her step-siblings as bait to pull off her calculated thefts. She becomes an exceptionally skilled hacker through study and persistence, and she is the mastermind behind the entire operation, guiding the thefts while trying to shield herself from arrest. Throughout the investigation, Leela’s cunning is on full display, and the cat-and-mouse game intensifies.

As the truth about Leela surfaces, Gayathri’s relationship with Chandru experiences a rough patch; a moment of tension is resolved when Chandru apologizes to Gayathri’s uncle for an earlier confrontation, Manobala. With time, the estrangement eases, and the two continue to push forward to close the case. Chandru’s grandmother remains a steady presence, and she later regains consciousness to recount how she pleaded with the robbers not to take the medal, even offering her nose ring as a plea. The robbers’ harsh response ends in tragedy for two brothers who are killed by police during a confrontation with Gayathri’s team.

The pursuit of Leela becomes a tense game of pursuit and counter-pursuit, with Leela attempting multiple times to kill Chandru, Gayathri, and their squad. In a decisive moment, Chandru capturtes Leela and recovers the stolen jewelry and money from the schoolbags hidden at her friend Ganesh’s house, bringing her to justice. He also retrieves the medal from Leela’s possession, discovering that she had buried it in Chandru’s garden. The case seems resolved, but Leela remains a dangerous adversary; she calls Chandru from jail, challenges him, and promises another round in a future game, hinting that the conflict between the two is far from over.

  • Ganesh, Amit Bhargav, appears as a key figure in the later part of the investigation, aiding in the discovery of the stash inside Ganesh’s residence.
  • The momentum of the investigation is driven by the tireless work of Gayathiri and Chandru, who put aside their differences to pursue the truth and ensure that justice is served for the victims and for Leela’s victims.
  • The revelation of Leela’s backstory adds a heavy emotional layer to the narrative, showing how trauma and loss can fuse with intellect and ambition to drive someone toward a path of calculated crime—and how difficult it is to separate the mastermind from the motive.

In the end, the medal is recovered, and Leela’s plan is brought to light, but the door is left ajar for a future reckoning as Leela challenges Chandru once more from behind bars. The web of motives, loyalties, and family secrets creates a gripping, morally nuanced tale that stays true to the original events while presenting them with a fresh, cinematic clarity.
