The film picks up right where L’armata Brancaleone left off, with Brancaleone da Norcia leading a ragged band through the desert toward the Holy Land, joined by the unpredictable presence of Zenone and his motley army of underdogs. Their march is soon interrupted by another group of Christian warriors who accuse Brancaleone’s company of heresy and launch a clash that leaves him temporarily out of the fight.
