The memories from his storied days are not distant or forgotten, but sharp and evocative. Seeking peace in the stillness, Alex quietly enters the bedroom of his 10-year-old son, Jason. To his surprise, he finds Jason wide awake, engrossed in the pages of a book.

This heartwarming encounter catalyzes a series of events as Alex learns that Jason has recently faced suspension from school due to his unwavering determination to stand up against three intimidating bullies. Rather than reprimanding his son, Alex responds with a profound understanding that strengthens the bond between them. As they gear up for a camping trip, Alex begins to share the tales of his past, guiding Jason through the journey that took him from the depths of imprisonment to the revered teachings of Master Sun and ultimately his rise as the champion of the Kumite.

Delving into his vivid memories, Alex recounts how, in the years following his victorious return from the Kumite, he found himself entangled in high-stakes gambling within the vibrant landscape of India. One dramatic night at a casino, chaos erupted when masked men stormed the venue, stealing cash along with a package of coveted diamonds. The owner of the casino, desperate for help, turned to Alex, pleading with him to recover the stolen items that belonged to the notorious mob boss, Duvalier.

After successfully retrieving the package, Alex is graciously invited to a lavish dinner party hosted by Duvalier as a gesture of thanks. It is during this opulent soirée that he encounters the Beast, Duvalier’s top fighter, who tries to persuade him to enter the upcoming Kumite. Alex, however, stands firm against the pressures from Duvalier, which incites the wrath of his former mentor when Master Sun is horrifically murdered.

In his quest for guidance and strength during such dark times, Alex seeks out Leung, an individual from his past who can reveal the hidden secrets of the Iron Hand technique. Leung directs him to Makato “the Judge”, the revered brother of Sun, who has an extensive understanding of this ancient art. Under the Judge’s careful tutelage, Alex learns to unlock the depths of his mental and physical prowess, preparing for the impending showdown against the formidable Beast within the Kumite.

As Duvalier’s obsession with his champion intensifies, he grows increasingly hesitant to allow Alex into the Kumite, fearing that Alex’s presence could alter the balance of power. When he realizes he cannot bar Alex from entering the tournament, Duvalier resorts to placing his loyal henchmen at the entrances of the arena, determined to keep Alex at bay. Undeterred, Alex cleverly disguises himself as part of an entourage accompanying another fighter, successfully gaining entry to the Kumite.

As both Alex and the Beast navigate the intense atmosphere filled with competition, they finally lock horns in the long-awaited finals. Initially, Alex struggles against the Beast’s overwhelming strength and remarkable stamina, suffering through a brutal onslaught. Yet, harnessing the skills from his rigorous training, he finds his rhythm and lands a critical blow that secures his victory. Despite the chance to settle scores with Duvalier, Alex chooses restraint, realizing that vengeance would not revive the cherished memory of his beloved mentor.
