Noggin follows the everyday life of the Spiller family—Simon, Kate, and their parents, Sarah (a piano teacher) and Geoff (a doctor)—until a school charity event introduces a discordant twist. During the performance, a hypnotist and entertainer named Ming the Mind Master captivates the audience and, in a surprising aftereffect, leaves Sarah and Geoff mesmerized. As the show ends, the siblings realize their parents have never truly snapped out of the hypnosis and continue to drift in and out of a childlike trance.
