What Is Beyond Evil About?

Middle‑aged newlyweds Larry and Barbara enjoy their honeymoon in a Filipino mansion, unaware that the estate is haunted by the vengeful spirit of a voodoo witch queen murdered a century earlier. The witch’s force initiates a series of brutal deaths as part of a dark ritual to resurrect herself, achieving her goal by seizing Barbara’s body.

Barbara Andrews, Lynda Day George and her husband Larry Andrews, John Saxon, travel to a small island off the Philippines where they are meant to move into a condominium that, upon arrival, doesn’t exist. Their business associate Del Giorgio, Michael Dante, reveals he has arranged instead for them to live in a large, historic colonial mansion named Casa Fortuna. He adds that the home is tied to a local legend: Alma Martín, Janice Lynde and her husband Esteban, Zitto Kazann, supposedly killed each other there after Alma grew entangled with the occult. The couple is unsettled but agrees to stay, drawn by the promise of a grand new life.
