Banjo, a curious rebellious kitten, jumps from a chicken coop roof and is ordered to fetch a switch. Believing his parents won’t mind, he rides a feed truck to Salt Lake City. The city’s excitement soon feels cold and lonely, and he longs for home. With help from stray cat Crazy Legs and three singing cat girls, he finds the truck and returns.

In a woodpile on a farm in Payson, Utah, a rambunctious orange kitten named Banjo constantly makes mischief, much to his family’s dismay. After Banjo disobeys his father’s warnings to mind his little sisters, and after one stunt nearly puts them in harm’s way, his father orders him to retrieve the switch that will be used against him; Banjo instead runs away and hops a ride on a feed truck bound for Salt Lake City.
