Reshma, Sridevi lives with her father, Sudhir Pandey, the stern and respected head of a traveling nomadic tribe that moves across the landscape under a pale, watchful moon. On every new moon, Reshma is haunted by the same nightmare: she is chased by faceless goons and ends up dead, a haunting that unsettles her and her people.
The tribe crosses into the territory of Rana Udaybhan Singh Sesodia, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, a formidable patriarch who guards his land and his pride. Into this tense moment steps Kumar Singh Sesodia, Rishi Kapoor, the son of Udaybhan Singh, who cannot ignore an unexpected pull toward Reshma. As their feelings deepen, the lovers must confront an obstacle: Reshma is betrothed to Shakti Singh, Gulshan Grover, a menacing figure whose ambitions threaten them.
Udaybhan Singh is wary of his son’s choice, and the social divide that separates them looms large. Yet fate plays its hand when Reshma and Kumar flee together and seek refuge in an old Haweli, where the venerable caretaker Thakur Baba, Pran Sikand, steps in to calm the storm.
Thakur Baba unveils a legend that reshapes their world: his own daughter, Devi, who looked strikingly like Reshma, had fallen in love with Suraj, a boy from a lower social stratum. The story recalls a tragedy—Suraj was killed by those who disapproved, and Devi ended her own life. Yet, in a twist of fate, Devi and Suraj are reborn as Reshma and Kumar, destined to meet again and reclaim their love after decades apart.
Moved by this centuries-old tale, the feuding families begin to soften. Reshma and Kumar’s bond grows stronger, and together they offer a path toward reconciliation rather than advantage. In the end, the assembled patriarchs—Sardar Malik and Udaybhan Singh—lay aside decades of feud, allowing the young lovers to live side by side, their reunion sealing a fragile peace and a promise that love can outlast time itself.
