In 1971, Maharani Gitanjali Ileana D’Cruz sits at the heart of a Rajasthan royal lineage, living under a national push to nationalize royal wealth. The government scheme requires old principalities to hand over their fortunes to the state, but Gitanjali’s family history is marked by a stubborn resistance to surrender. Four years later, the country enters a period of political upheaval as Indira Gandhi declares a state of emergency, shifting power dynamics and prompting plots that cross the lines between loyalty and betrayal.

Sanjeev [Priyanshu Chatterjee] (the Playboy son of Indira Gandhi, known to many as Sanjay Gandhi) takes a personal stand after a public snub in 1973. He orchestrates a ruthless plan to seize Gitanjali’s gold, ordering Colonel Rudra Pratap Singh to confiscate the treasure and imprison the princess. The goal is clear: remove the wealth from her hands and push back against a monarch who refuses to bow to the new order.

To carry out the mission, Rudra enlists Major Seher Singh [Vidyut Jammwal] and Captain Somesh to transport the gold to Delhi for safekeeping. Seher Singh is entrusted with a specially built truck, complete with a heavy-duty safe designed to withstand the rigors of a freight under high political pressure. The tension between the pursuit and the plan grows as Rudra pushes his deputies to keep the gold secure while the search narrows in on the fugitives.

Meanwhile, Gitanjali’s trusted aide Sanjana [Esha Gupta] is sent to spy on the interaction between the conspirators, gathering intelligence that could alter the course of the mission. Gitanjali entrusts Sanjana with a bold request: join Bhavani Singh [Ajay Devgn] to reclaim the gold and, in time, secure her freedom. She explains that the money is meant to support the villagers who bear the consequences of royal rule, presenting a motive that casts the operation as a rebellion with a humanitarian veneer.

Bhavani, backed by Dalia [Emraan Hashmi], Guruji [Sanjay Mishra], and Sanjana, maps out a detailed plan and tails the government convoy as Seher Singh and Somesh push toward Delhi. The quartet breaches the transport, forcing Seher and his lieutenant to relinquish control of the truck. Guruji’s expertise becomes crucial here as he works to bypass the safe’s defenses and unlock the treasure, turning a high-stakes chase into a calculated heist.

The hunt intensifies as Seher Singh, Rudra Pratap Singh, and other army units close in on Bhavani’s group. When the army reaches out to police inspector Durjan [Sharad Kelkar] for help, Bhavani’s team improvises to stay one step ahead, outsmarting their pursuers through a mix of cunning and daring. The confrontation reaches a turning point when the treasure is recovered and the intended beneficiaries of the gold are revealed through the actions of Bhavani and his allies.

Before returning the loot to Gitanjali Devi, Bhavani confronts a painful truth: Gitanjali’s motives appear personal and self-serving, while Seher served as her aide. Bhavani realizes that he was being used, yet his team chooses a different path—one that distributes portions of the gold among the poor and struggling people who suffered under the ruler’s wrath. The revelation reframes the mission from a simple heist to a moral reckoning, underscoring a broader themes of power, loyalty, and justice.

In the aftermath of the clash, the desert’s vast emptiness bears witness to the fragile outcomes of political games. Gitanjali finds herself stranded with slim chances of survival, while Bhavani and his loyal team slip away, leaving the redistributed wealth and a shaken political landscape in their wake. The story lingers on the cost of resistance, the complexities of leadership, and the quiet resilience of those who choose to share what they possess with those who need it most.
