Arthur and the Revenge of Maltazard 2009

It is 1962, two years after Arthur Montgomery [Freddie Highmore] saved his grandparents’ home and rescued the Minimoys from the evil Maltazard. Arthur stays with his grandparents for the holidays, where the Bogo Matassalai (a fictitious African society) task the young king with a series of tests, focusing on camouflage and environmental nonviolence. Having passed these challenges, Arthur looks forward to celebrating with the Minimoys, until his father decides to take him and his mother back to the metropolis.

When a spider delivers a grain of rice containing a distress call, which he believes comes from the Minimoys, Arthur returns to his grandparents’ house. There, the Bogo Matassalai’s attempt to grant him Minimoy stature through a telescope fails, and instead he is wrapped in vines that tighten around him until he drops as a drop of sap into the Minimoy Max’s bar. En route to investigate the Minimoys’ condition, Arthur and Max rescue Betameche [Jimmy Fallon], who leads Arthur to the King.

He then learns that Selenia [Selena Gomez] is held by Maltazard [Lou Reed], who is driven to invade the human world by increasing his own size. Maltazard cleverly manipulates the Minimoys into completing his design, using the moment to his advantage. The telescope itself is destroyed in the process, leaving Arthur trapped at his Minimoy size, while Maltazard is free to roam the world.
