Spoilers ahead
Abraxas, Jesse Ventura and Secundus, Sven-Ole Thorsen, are Finders from the planet Sargacia, a race that looks human but enjoys an extended lifespan. Each Finder carries an Answer Box, a multifunction device that serves as a communicator and scanner, capable of detecting objects from a distance when it picks up their vibration. In their pursuit of knowledge and power, Secundus hatches a dangerous plan: he longs to access a negative universe that he believes will grant him omnipotence and immortality, provided he can obtain the solution to the Anti-Life Equation. To this end, he travels to Earth and, in a shocking act of coercion, impregnates the first human woman he finds—Sonia Murray, Marjorie Bransfield—simply by laying his hand over her belly.
