In 2010, a deadly virus sweeps the globe, killing half the population. A drug regimen called Absolon becomes mandatory for survival, controlled by a single dominant corporation led by Murchison, Ron Perlman. A corporate scientist who had been researching the virus is found murdered. Norman Scott, Christopher Lambert, the policeman assigned to the case, uncovers a conspiracy tied to the scientist’s work. He is given a partial dosage of the cure the scientist had been developing, but soon finds himself hunted by an assassination team. Scott goes on the run with Claire, Kelly Brook, a colleague of the murdered scientist, and they realize the killers are connected to Murchison.
As the pursuit escalates, Scott learns that the cure in his bloodstream is not for the original virus (which had died out years earlier) but for the worldwide dependence on the addictive Absolon drug itself, a dependence that has reshaped human bodies so that life without Absolon is no longer possible. Together they navigate a tangled web of corporate secrets and hidden agendas, hoping to expose the truth before the true purpose of the cure secures Absolon’s grip on humanity.
