In the high range of Idukki, Shaji Pappan and his close circle—Arakkal Abu, Captain Sachin Cleetus, Krishnan Mandaram, Kuttan Moonga, Lalan P. K. alias Lolan, and Bastin Pathrose—lead a life that blends camaraderie with ordinary mischief and the occasional scrape with the law. One day, he fights and tosses an SI into a dam, unaware that his friends are smuggling sandalwood. The incident lands him in trouble, and he must report to the police where S.I. Sarbath Shameer steps into the case, setting off a chain of consequences. With money stretched thin, the group decides to enter a tug-of-war tournament for a chance at a life-changing prize, the legendary gold trophy, hoping it might ease their mounting debts.

To cover the Rs.50,000 entry fee, he uses his house documents as collateral to secure a loan from the hard-nosed loan shark Irumbu Abdullah. In a parallel thread, the band led by the street-smart Dude—who cannot return to Bangkok and works in a restaurant—starts digging a tunnel to rob a nearby bank, a plan that is shaken by the sweeping demonetisation of currency that reshapes every move they make. The underworld also reels from the disruption: the drug dealer Satan Xavier and his henchmen Kanjav Soman and Battery Simon feel the tremors of opportunity and danger alike.

As the tournament unfolds, the group triumphs and wins the gold trophy, only to have it stolen on the long journey home. The shock is compounded when Shaji’s mother, Mary, faints after learning that the house documents are missing. The pursuit drags them to Anali Sabu, the thief, whose actions connect to the elder criminal Chekuthan Lassar. Lassar demands a hefty compensation, and the havoc escalates when his retaliation leads to the burning of Shaji’s house.

Meanwhile, in the counterfeit world, Mahesh Shetty is finalising a deal to acquire engraving plates for the new 500-rupee note. His partner Prabhakar betrays him by plotting with Xavier under a false premise, prompting Soman to warn the crew led by [Dude] about the real target: the engraving plates. The plates, along with the medicine destined for Shaji, are set to arrive at the same train station, triggering a frantic race as everyone scrambles to seize their share of the loot.

When the dust settles, Shaji and his friends manage to retrieve the plates and hand them to Chekuthan Lassar to print counterfeit notes. But the clash spirals into violence as Lassar, Anali Sabu, and their henchmen strike back. Captain Sachin Cleetus steps in at a critical moment to shield them from danger, and the authorities eventually acknowledge their honesty with a modest reward. The tale closes with a quiet sense of resilience and a renewed understanding of how quickly luck can tilt in a world where loyalty, crime, and survival intertwine.
