Three friends - Tamizh, Gokulnath, Cherry, Meghna, and Singaram, Balasaravanan - reunite at a gathering and find themselves drawn into a ghost-hunting bet proposed by Prosper, Bobby Simha, a wealthy former schoolmate. The stakes are enormous: a prize of 60 crore rupees awaits anyone who can prove the existence of ghosts.
The dare leads them to five locations around the world long believed to be haunted: events in Japan, Dubai, the mid-sea of the Bay of Bengal, a highway in Andhra Pradesh, and a remote ATM booth in Tamil Nadu. Despite their cameras, they fail to capture any supernatural activity, leaving them anxious about losing the prize and watching Prosper inch closer to the win.
Amid the search, a video surfaces that purportedly shows a ghost killing ATM watchmen. The footage sits on a pen drive owned by Bosskey, the owner of the security company that employed the ATM guard. When he learns of the potential windfall for proof, he demands 50 lakhs for the pen drive.
Cherry approaches Prosper for the money, but Prosper tries to exploit her and behaves indecently toward her. Frustrated and shaken, Cherry returns home and relays the incident to Tamizh and Singaram. That night, she receives a call from her lover Salim, and in fear she utters a single word: “accident.”
The three friends rush to the location and find Salim dying. Before his death, he narrates the incident and records it on his camera. In a car, Salim and his friends watch a CD they had picked up from a vendor who claimed it was an unreleased movie. As they watch, the same events from the video begin to unfold in reality. One by one, the friends are killed by the vengeful ghost, and Salim buries the CD before the specter can claim it. The CD is discovered, but before anyone can seize it, the ghost claims the lives of the trio.
Prosper, having won the bet, reclaims his prize—a Yamaha RX 100—and revels in his supposed victory. Just as a doorbell rings and he starts to celebrate, the eerie visitor at the door reveals the price of chasing ghosts: Prosper is killed by a spectral force.
