Set in 1979, in the remote village Bandalingampalli in United Andhra Pradesh (now Telangana), the film unfolds as a quiet, communal drama with the looming possibility of Skylab debris falling to Earth casting a speculative shadow over daily life. Dr. Anand, Satyadev Kancharana and Subedar Rama Rao, Rahul Ramakrishna, form an unlikely friendship during a bus journey into the village, their paths crossing amid small-town hopes and unfinished business.

Gowri, Nithya Menen, returns from Hyderabad after learning about her father’s illness, only to discover that her father, Venkataraju, G. V. Narayana Rao, is actually well; her mother Padma, Tulasi, and the servant had sent the erroneous information. Disappointed by the city’s miscommunication, Gowri resolves to write and publish what she has learned, channeling her curiosity into a larger story. The plot thickens as Anand seeks to reclaim his lost medical license and earn Rs. 5000, a sum that could restore his professional standing. He teams with Rama Rao to reopen a clinic that has been shut for 25 years, a bold move in a village wary of change.

Rama Rao’s family carries heavy debts, and there is resistance to taking on menial work. To restart the clinic, Rama Rao considers pawning another piece of the family’s antique jewelry, a risky bet that underscores the economic pressure bearing down on them all. Yet the village panchayat’s objections grow quieter as the duo persists, deciding to stage a large, watershed event to inaugurate the clinic and symbolically rewrite the community’s future. Meanwhile, Gowri presses ahead with her investigative ambition, determined to secure a big story for publication.

The radio brings a new element into people’s conversations—the possibility of Skylab’s fall—sparking debates, rumors, and a shared sense of peril among villagers. Anand, buoyed by the lingering support of his grandfather Sadasivam, Tanikella Bharani and his own resolve, decides not to abandon the village after all; the cinema of ordinary life proves to be stronger than the fear of distant skies.
