Jimmy Chin

Jimmy Chin, a renowned American professional mountain athlete, photographer, skier, film director, and author, has been active as a professional climber and skier on The North Face Athlete team for over 20 years. He is best known for his significant achievements in mountain athletics and his strikingly beautiful photography documenting these expeditions. In 2006, Chin achieved the first successful American ski descent from the summit of Mount Everest. His work has been featured in globally recognized publications such as National Geographic, The New York Times Magazine, Vanity Fair, and more. His first book of photography, There and Back, became a New York Times Best Seller in 2021. Furthermore, he co-directs films with his wife, Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi. Their works, including the award-winning documentaries Meru and Free Solo, have earned widespread acclaim and have led to significant advances in the film industry. Chin and Vasarhelyi's 2021 documentary, The Rescue, received numerous awards, and they have continued to produce high-quality content into 2022 and beyond.
