Kelsey Grammer Discusses Beast Role in Avengers: Doomsday

Kelsey Grammer has provided new insights into his reprisal of Hank McCoy, aka Beast, for the highly anticipated multiverse film Avengers: Doomsday. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actor revealed he was physically present on set and interacted with several key MCU actors, suggesting his role will be more substantial than his brief, fully CGI appearance in The Marvels.

On-Set Experience and Co-Stars

Grammer shared that he filmed scenes alongside other Marvel heroes and a villain, though he remained cautious about revealing specific plot details. He expressed particular enthusiasm for working with Robert Downey Jr., noting they “sort of share a scene.” The actor also praised his time with Pedro Pascal, the new star of the upcoming Fantastic Four film, confirming they worked together directly. This on-set involvement contrasts with the voice-only work some had speculated would be required for the fully computer-generated character.

Beast’s MCU Future

The actor’s return was hinted at in the post-credits scene of The Marvels, where a CGI version of Beast more closely aligned with the character’s animated appearance in X-Men ‘97 was introduced. At that time, Grammer expressed hope that he would play the character again, describing Beast as “a character of gravitas and importance.” While his involvement in Avengers: Doomsday is now confirmed, it remains unclear if he will also appear in the subsequent film, Avengers: Secret Wars.
