Responding to a question about an extended cut merging both chapters, Muschietti stated, “Yes, still a big dream of mine. Since we’ve been involved heavily in this show we hadn’t had time to execute it. Crossing fingers.” This confirms the director’s personal investment in the idea, though no timeline for its development has been set.
