Sheeba Chaddha

Sheeba Chaddha is a versatile Indian actress whose career spans film, television, stage and digital platforms, making her a respected character actor in contemporary Indian entertainment. Born on 24 April 1973 in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, she grew up in Delhi where she discovered a passion for theatre through local workshops and honed her craft while studying English literature at Hans Raj College, University of Delhi, where she was a classmate of filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. Her early forays into acting included a debut on the popular youth series Hip Hip Hurray (1998‑2001) and a memorable role in Love Marriage (2002), after which she seamlessly transitioned to supporting roles in major Bollywood films such as Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999), Parzania (2007), Delhi‑6 (2009), Luck by Chance (2009) and Talaash: The Answer Lies Within (2012), where she portrayed the poignant sex‑worker Nirmala. In 2015 she earned critical praise for her quirky turn as Nain Tara Tiwary (Buaji) in Dum Laga Ke Haisha, a performance that highlighted her comic timing and depth. Television audiences have also recognized her talent through long‑running series like Na Aana Is Des Laado (2009‑2012), Kasturi (2007) and Hitler Didi (2012), where she played the beloved Dulari Bua. On stage, she has collaborated with noted directors such as Rajat Kapoor in C for Clown and performed lead roles in classic productions including Hedda Gabler and Desdemona in Roysten Abel’s Othello in Black & White.
