She debuted on TV with shows like Are You Afraid of the Dark? (1999), Mutant X (2002), and Dark Oracle (2004). Her voice talent also graced numerous TV productions. Gadon's reputation amplified for her roles in David Cronenberg's films A Dangerous Method (2011), Cosmopolis (2012), and Maps to the Stars (2014). Other notable films include Denis Villeneuve's thriller Enemy (13), the period drama Belle (2013), and the action horror film Dracula Untold (2014). In 2015, she played a young Elizabeth II in A Royal Night Out, and in 2016, she starred in the period film Indignation. She further cemented her standing as an accomplished actress with her role in the CBC miniseries Alias Grace (2017) based on Margaret Atwood's novel.\nBorn in Toronto, Ontario, to a psychologist father and a teacher mother, Gadon has English and Italian ancestry. Her childhood and adolescent years were spent training and performing as a dancer, and she was associated with The National Ballet School of Canada and the Claude Watson School for the Performing Arts. Gadon commenced acting at age 11 and took part in various TV series, acquiring a range of roles. She won three Canadian Screen Awards and the Award of Excellence by the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television, and Radio Artists (ACTRA) in 2016. By 2014, she concluded her studies at the University of Toronto's Cinema Studies Institute at Innis College. She is married to Max Fine and has one child.
