Oscar Isaac

Óscar Isaac Hernández Estrada (born March 9, 1979) is an acclaimed American actor recognized for his diverse range of roles and his efforts in breaking the stereotypes about Latino characters in Hollywood. In 2017, he was named the best actor of his generation by Vanity Fair, and in 2020, he was recognized by The New York Times as one of the 25 greatest actors of the 21st century. His impressive list of accolades includes a Golden Globe Award and a nomination for a Primetime Emmy Award, and he also featured on Time's list of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2016.

Born in Guatemala, Isaac moved with his family to the US when he was an infant. During his teenage years, he dabbled into punk music, theater, and film - even landing his film debut in a minor role. A graduate of the Juilliard School, Isaac spent most of the early 2000s as a supporting actor in various films until his breakthrough with his titular role in the musical drama Inside Llewyn Davis.
