Mithila Palkar

Mithila Palkar (born 11 January 1993) is an Indian actress and singer who has become a defining presence in contemporary Hindi‑language television and digital media. Raised in a Marathi family in Mumbai, she spent her early years in Vasai before moving to Dadar with her maternal grandparents, an arrangement that shaped her resilient character and deep appreciation for cultural roots. Though her family had no prior connections to the film industry, her grandfather’s initial disapproval only fueled her determination, and she began performing in school dramas as early as Class VII, showcasing a blend of nerd‑like academic dedication and artistic curiosity. After completing a Bachelor of Mass Media at MMK College, Bandra, she entered the theatre world through Quasar Theatre Productions, where she managed the renowned Thespo festival and honed her backstage skills while simultaneously training in Hindustani classical music, Kathak, and a crash course at the Stella Adler Studio in Los Angeles. Mithila’s onscreen debut arrived with the Marathi short film Majha Honeymoon (2014), which screened at the 16th Mumbai International Film Festival, and she soon secured a supporting role in Imran Khan’s Katti Batti (2015), marking her entry into mainstream Hindi cinema. Her breakout came via the digital platform, where she starred in Bindass’s Girl in the City (2016‑2021) and the much‑loved web series Little Things (2016‑2021), a partnership with Dhruv Sehgal that earned her two Filmfare OTT Awards for Best Actress in a Comedy Series. In 2017, she won a Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut — Marathi for Muramba, establishing her as a versatile talent capable of navigating both regional and national markets. Subsequent projects such as Karwaan (2018), Chopsticks (2019), and Tribhanga (2021) further cemented her reputation, while her viral Marathi “cup song” in 2016 garnered over six million YouTube views, showcasing her musical flair.
