His acting prowess earned him the Best Actor award twice at the Grande Prêmio do Cinema Brasileiro. He claimed these awards for his roles in the films 'Midnight (1998)' in 2000 and 'O Auto da Compadecida (2000)' in 2001. In addition to this, he won the Best Actor award for 'Mango Yellow' at XIII Cine Ceará in 2003. In 2008, Nachtergaele expanded his horizons to direction and made his directorial debut with 'The Dead Girl's Feast.' His latest works include films such as 'Get the Goat (2021)' and upcoming 'Heavier Is the Sky (2023)'. Openly bisexual, Nachtergaele has always been candid about his personal life and continues to contribute significantly to the world of cinema.
