Leili Rashidi

Leyli Rashidi (born 2 February 1973 in Tehran, Iran) is a celebrated Iranian actress whose career spans over three decades. She was born into a prominent artistic family, the daughter of revered actor and director Davoud Rashidi and actress Ehteram Boroumand, and grew up surrounded by cinema and theater, which ignited her passion for performance at an early age. Her brother Farhad Rachidi and her aunt, the noted filmmaker Marzieh Boroumand, also contributed to an environment rich in creative influence, allowing Leyli to absorb the nuances of acting from childhood. She made her professional debut in 1991, quickly establishing herself on the Iranian screen with roles that showcased her emotional depth and versatility. Over the years she has appeared in a variety of films, from the early‑2000s project Without Description to the critically acclaimed Shirin (2008) directed by renowned filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami, where her subtle performance added to the ensemble’s exploration of identity and memory.
