What's After the Movie
Jason Fuchs is an American actor and screenwriter whose career spans more than two decades of film, television, and stage work. Born on March 5, 1986 in New York City to a Jewish family with Hasidic roots on his father's side, he began performing at the age of seven, debuting at Lincoln Center in the play Abe Lincoln in Illinois alongside Sam Waterston. After early television appearances on shows such as Cosby, The Sopranos, and Law & Order, he landed his first feature film role as Marvin in the 1996 movie Flipper with Elijah Wood. Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s he continued to act in a variety of projects, including Louis & Frank, Jane Austen's Mafia! and the cult comedy The Hebrew Hammer. He graduated from Columbia University in 2009 with a degree in film studies, a foundation that would later inform his transition to writing and producing. By 2006 he had written, produced, and starred in the short film Pitch, which premiered at Cannes, and his involvement in independent cinema grew with roles in Winter Solstice and Holy Rollers. As a screenwriter, Fuchs quickly became one of the most commercially successful writers of his generation, joining the elite group of the 100 highest‑grossing screenwriters worldwide. His breakout credit came with the animated blockbuster Ice Age: Continental Drift (2012), which earned nearly $877 million globally and secured a spot among the top‑grossing films of that year. He followed this success with Pan (2015) and the critically acclaimed The Boss Baby (2017), while also co‑authoring the screenplay for Wonder Woman (2017), earning nominations for the Satellite, USC Scripter, and Saturn Awards and winning a Hugo Award. In television, he portrayed Lawrence Grey on The Passage and was later appointed showrunner for the upcoming It: Welcome to Derry prequel series. Recent announcements include his involvement in a live‑action adaptation of My Hero Academia for Netflix, underscoring his continued influence across multiple media platforms.
