Jacques Weber is a celebrated French actor, director, and writer whose career spans more than five decades of French theatre, cinema, and television. Born in Paris, France, Weber entered the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique at the age of twenty, where he earned the prestigious Prix d'Excellence before embarking on a prolific stage career under the mentorship of Robert Hossein. His early theatrical work included notable productions such as Tartuffe (1970) and Faustine et le Bel Été (1972), establishing him as a versatile talent capable of moving fluidly between classic repertoire and contemporary drama. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Weber became a fixture at the Centre dramatique national in Lyon and later at the Théâtre de Nice, where he both starred in and directed landmark productions like Cyrano de Bergerac, Le Neveu de Rameau, and Le Tartuffe.
