What's After the Movie
Daryl Christopher Sabara (born June 14, 1992) is an American actor best known for his role as Juni Cortez in the popular Spy Kids film series, a part that launched him into early fame as a child star. Raised in Torrance, California, Sabra displayed a love for performance early, training with the South Bay Ballet and later graduating from West Torrance High School in 2010. His twin sister, also an actor, shares his Russian‑Jewish heritage, and the siblings have occasionally appeared together on screen, notably in episodes of The Batman where she voiced Robin and he voiced the villainous sidekick Scorn. Sabra's career began in the mid‑1990s with guest spots on sitcoms such as Murphy Brown, Friends, and Will & Grace, leading to his casting in the inaugural Spy Kids movie in 2001 and its sequels, which cemented his status among pre‑teen audiences. Beyond the franchise, Sabra has built a versatile résumé that spans voice work, drama, and horror. He voiced Hunter in Father of the Pride, the titular hero in the animated adaptation of The Polar Express, and later the lead of Generator Rex. His live‑action credits include a memorable turn as the school bully Wesley Rhoades in Rob Zombie’s Halloween (2007), a supporting role opposite Robin Williams in World’s Greatest Dad, and a part as Edgar Rice Burroughs in John Carter (2012). Sabra also ventured onto the stage, co‑starring with Chloë Grace Moretz in the off‑Broadway play The Library (2014) directed by Steven Soderbergh. In television, he enjoyed recurring roles on Weeds and Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place. Since marrying pop singer Meghan Trainor in 2018, the couple has welcomed two sons, balancing family life with Sabra’s ongoing work in film, television, and voice acting.
