Casey Affleck

Casey Affleck (born Caleb Casey McGuire Affleck-Boldt; August 12, 1975) is a renowned American actor and filmmaker. The brother of fellow actor Ben Affleck, Casey entered the world of acting as a child actor in the PBS television film Lemon Sky. He followed this with appearances in films like To Die For, Good Will Hunting, Gerry, and the Ocean's series. His first leading role was in Steve Buscemi's independent comedy-drama Lonesome Jim. He came into the limelight in 2007 after being nominated for the Academy Award for his performance as Robert Ford in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Affleck also earned critical acclaim for his role in his brother's crime drama, Gone Baby Gone. He ventured into direction with the mockumentary I'm Still Here and later appeared in notable films like Tower Heist, ParaNorman, and Interstellar. His phenomenal performance as a grieving man in Manchester by the Sea earned him the Academy Award for Best Actor in 2016. He has since starred in various dramas, including A Ghost Story, The Old Man & the Gun, and as Boris Pash in the biographical thriller Oppenheimer.

Affleck was born on August 12, 1975, in Falmouth, Massachusetts to Christine Anne "Chris" Boldt and Timothy Byers Affleck. He first dabbled in acting by reenacting what was happening at home during role play exercises at Alateen meetings. After a year of traveling around Mexico with his mother and brother, he started speaking Spanish. Affleck later moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career but returned to study politics at George Washington University. He then transferred to Columbia University in New York City for two years, although he did not graduate.
